Dark Bird Is Home by The Tallest Man On Earth

Dark Bird Is Home is incredible. The Tallest Man On Earth puts out music that is dreamlike and magical. He lives in his own reality, and it shows.

The Tallest Man On Earth lead singer, Kristian Matsson, has a very unique voice that works perfectly with the dreamlike music he creates. His music fits into the indie/folk genres.

The first song on this album is “Fields of Our Home”, and it is perfectly placed to open the album. This song is relaxing, hopeful, and a perfect representation of The Tallest Man On Earth’s talents.

What if I’d never been through finds
Of sorrow, wailing loans
What if I’d never seen through that
To the fields of our home

With a light acoustic guitar through most of his songs, they are simple, but yet ethereal and magical.

“Darkness of a Dream” has a heavier instrumental sound, and is faster and more upbeat. It still has the quality of a dreamlike feeling, however.

“Dark Bird Is Home”, the closing song on the album closes it perfectly. It is beautiful and brings hope.

And suddenly the day gets you down
But this is not the end, no, this is fine
We’re still the towers in the valley
Still winds down this dream
Still we’re in the light of day
With our ghosts within

Matsson displays his vocals in an up and down fashion, that does the song wonders. The way he sings it shows a realness, and is one of the songs on the album that is closer to reality.

Drums come in around 3 minutes and 20 seconds, and then soon after heavy instrumentals come in and close the song with an emotional and ethereal sound.

I love the work that The Tallest Man On Earth creates. His songs are beautiful.
